Some people have asked for information on travel itineraries and recommendations for lodging and attractions. I can only share my experiences and the notes from friends but here are my travel notes from places I have been and hope to visit. I will continue to update!

Women in Toys

October 20th we held a networking event for Women in Toys. I am co-chair of the HK Chapter so spent.

We lucked out because our event was planned for a Thursday. Both Wednesday and Friday typhoons hit Hong Kong causing tons of rain and even cancelled work and school. Thursday was very humid but we were able to have the event.

We had 24 people show up which was a great turnout for us. So happy it went well.

Lisa and I are the co-chairs of the chapter!

Indonesia

I needed to make a work trip to Indonesia to visit a few factories. I had promised myself that next time I made the trip I would take myself to Bali for a little R&R. So it was time to reward myself.

I went to Jakarta first to visit 2 current factories that we work with.

I got cash for my trip. I am a multi-millionaire in Indonesia... this money is only about USD$300.

Day 1 I went direct to factory from the airport.

Day 2 was a longer drive to another factory.

I think I am in Indonesia but the signs confuse me...

Traffic in Jakarta is brutal. To go 30 km it took over 3.5 hours... I had to limit the amount of liquids I drank all day knowing that I would be in the car for a long while...

After 2 days in Jakarta, I was off for a weekend getaway in Bali.
Here is my swim up lagoon hotel room.

The hotel was right on Legian Beach.

First night I found a western restaurant with a live band.

After too much time in the car in Jakarta, I decided Saturday to just I wander around the area on foot.

And then sit by the pool of course.

The last night in Bali I found a local restaurant that had Balinese dancers.

After a relaxing weekend I had to get back to work. I took an early flight to Surabaya.

These traffic police are actually not paid police. They are just volunteers who stand in the middle of intersections and direct traffic as they see fit. Why? Because drivers will give them tips for getting them into traffic.

4 people on a motorbike. Still trying to capture 5 people.

Lunch drink was avocado juice with chocolate. Actually pretty good.

Lunch food.

One angry looking fish.

here isn't much to see in Surabaya... the top attraction is a cirgarette factory which didn't interest me. So the driver took me on a tour of the city to show me some of the monuments.

This one represents sharpened bamboo which the military used to fight when they did not have guns.
